Welcome to the Rice For House website.
I am running for House District 44B, representing Golden Valley and St. Louis Park, Minnesota.
When people ask, “Why are you running for office?” I tell them I am running because we are facing some serious financial issues in Minnesota. We are headed for a financial cliff, and if we go over that cliff, we will end up in either Greece or California, with too many people in the cart and not enough people pulling the cart.
Somewhere, other than the path we are on, is the right balance of taxation and government services. My whole life has been centered on striving for the right balance. When government sector employment is growing faster than private sector employment, we are out of balance and accelerating towards that cliff I mentioned.
Yes, it is that serious. It is time to get off the bench and into the game. That is why I am running, and with your support, I will bring balance back to Minnesota.
